Stainless steel hook and slotted weights are available in multiple sizes to build the required calibration load. ### Quick Answer Mountz Calibration Hangers and Weights are components of a dead weight calibration setup for torque analyzers and torque sensors. A hanger is suspended from a Calibration Segment Arm or Calibration Wheel, and calibrated weights are added to create the required load. The total applied weight includes both the hanger and the weights. --- ### What Are Calibration Hangers and Weights Used For? Calibration Hangers and Weights are used with a **Calibration Segment Arm or Calibration Wheel** to create a known torque load for calibrating torque analyzers and torque sensors. Mountz identifies three components of a dead weight test set: 1. **Segment Arm or Calibration Wheel** 2. **Hanger** 3. **Weights** Mountz identifies calibrated dead weights as a means by which torque analyzers and torque sensors are calibrated and traced to National or International Standards such as NIST and ISO. --- ### How Do Hangers and Weights Work? The hanger is suspended from the **Segment Arm or Calibration Wheel**, and the required weights are placed on the hanger. Securely mount the torque analyzer or torque sensor. 2. Select the appropriate Calibration Segment Arm or Calibration Wheel. 3. Attach the Segment Arm or Wheel to the analyzer or sensor. 4. Select and attach the appropriate hanger. 5. Add the required calibrated weights to the hanger. 6. Apply the known torque load. 7. Repeat the process at the required calibration points.
